Who We Are

SoRiL, the Society of Risk Leadership®️, supports business leaders to steer the risk agenda in their companies by enabling them to be better at the demonstrating ethical leadership, at determining and applying risk appetite, at influencing risk culture and at guiding the risk management plan.

Founded in 2012, the Society promotes risk leadership through networking, guidance, seminars, and research. It organises the RISKLEADERS FORUM®️, an annual gathering of business leaders and an opportunity for business leaders to share their experiences and knowledge about risk leadership. SoRiL embraces diversity, equity and inclusion and welcomes all business leaders to connect, learn and engage via LinkedIn and X.

Mission

We advance risk leadership in business organisations through internal and external events, professional development, research, and advocacy.

Vision

A trusted and recognised international partner for the advancement of risk leadership.

Our Governance

The Board of Directors is the decision-making body of the Society and its decisions are taken by consensus. It has the ultimate responsibility for directing the activities of the Society and in insuring that its stated purpose is effectively pursued and fulfilled. The day-to-day operations and activities of the Society are performed by the General Secretariat which is accountable to the Board of Directors and provides regular progress updates and status reports on the Society’s operations and activities. Additionally, the Board of Directors has appointed an independent Advisory Committee made up of experts from around the world with deep technical or policy experience related to risk leadership research and practice. The Advisory Board serves as an independent and unbiased sounding board to the General Secretariat and provides expertise and guidance, while ensuring effective planning, monitoring and strengthening of the Society’s offerings and enhancing its public standing.
